The College maintains two mens’ hostel and one womens’ hostel for the bonafide students of the college. The hostels are under the charge of Superintendents. The Principal acts as the warden of all the hostels.
A. GENERAL RULESThe hostels shall maintain the following registers and keep them up-to-date.
(i) An admission register showing the date of admission home address of each boarder, name and relationship and address of a duly authorised guardian.
(ii) An attendance register in which the attendance of each boarder should be marked.
(iii) A visitor’s book in which the parents or guardians visiting their wards shall sign.
(iv) A medical register containing the following headings, date, time of arrival and departure of the office Roll No. & Name of sick student, year or class, treatment, Doctor’s recommendation, Principal’s order and initial
(v) An order book in which the Superintendent will record all orders.
(vi) A gate book The name of the boarders absenting themselves between night fall and 6 a.m must be entered in it.
If the reasons given for absence are not satisfacton the delinquents will be liable to expulsion from the hostel
(vii) An inventory of furniture and other articles.
(viii) Dak Book
(ix) Conduct register in which the name of the boarder will be entered in cases of serious misconduct.
(x) Inspection Remarks Book.
The object of hostel cultural society is the promotion of a corporate life among the boarders and organisation of cultural activities in the hostel. The society organises annual competitions in GK elocution games; music etc. It provides facilities for indoor games, newspaper and periodicals in the common room and arranges regular discussion in literary, economic, scientific and other social. subjects.
1. For managing different functions of the hostel, the Superintendent may nominate some enthusiastic boarders to the Hostel Executive Body. The Executive Body will consist of the following members: (i) Superintendent (ii) Assistant Superintendent. (iii) General Secretary. (iv) Athletic Secretary. (v) Common Room Secretary (vi) Cultural Secretary (vii) Mess Secretary. Besides the above members, the Superintendent may nominate Assistant Secretaries of the societies mentioned above for the smooth conduct of the hostel; but they will be considered as Executive members of the “Hostel Executive Body”.
2. The Society may bring out a magazine of the hostel by raising funds from among the boarders. In that event the Superintendent may nominate boarders as the Editor of the magazine. A few students may be placed in the Editorial Board.
